In Search of Missing Memories

Reflecting on a common malady of aging Baby Boomers…
I’ve formed a search party
in hopes I can find
those memories missing
inside of my mind.
Those priceless mental photographs
are worth their weight in gold.
But sadly they’ve become misplaced
within a brain that’s old.
Where have they gone? Where can I look?
They mean the world to me.
Perhaps they’re playing hide-and-seek.
Wherever could they be?
I’ve reached the age where memories hide
until they can be found.
And so I search for what is lost
until they’re safe and sound.
